So Dallas left for Shepherd's conference just a little while ago. Its an exciting time for three reasons:
1. We were not expecting him to be able to go. We have been wanting and praying towards this for a couple of years, but we have never had the money for him to be able to go- so it wasn't really on our minds this time around. It was a great surprise!
2. We were able to see the Lord work. I have been praying diligently for Dallas because the reality of him being in more of a leadership position is getting closer. So I have been praying that the Lord would equip Dallas for the work that He he has for him. About two weeks into praying that Dallas got a call from our pastor- apparently every year someone from Grace sends our church a check to provide for someone to go to the conference- air fair and all. This year the leaders prayed about it and all agreed that they thought Dallas should go. So from this I have seen God provide above and beyond! We didn't even think to pray specifically for him to go to the Shepherds conference! But the Lord knew exactly how he was going to equip Dallas and when! So it is really neat to see the loving sovereign hand of the Lord through this whole process!
3. The time I get to spend with people I don't usually get to! I am excited about my schedule for this week!
Tonight- Dinner with Dallas' grandma
Wednesday- Ladies Bible Study, Picnic and fellowship with Veronica and kids at the park, dinner with Dallas' other grandma and mom.
Thurs- Lunch with Jenn, Dinner with Monica
Friday- Lunch with Maridell :) and dinner with Chelle (celebrating my 25th) spending the night at moms.
Saturday- hanging out with my family and having Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast! Yummy! (Chocolate chip) and then Dallas comes home (it will be our 6th anniversary also!)
It is hard when he is away, and I miss him terribly already. But I am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in our lives. I am so thankful that he has time to get away with other godly men and hear the men of the faith bring it! Its so encouraging and its the best anniversary/Birthday present I have ever gotten! And yes, Naomi will be sleeping with me! LOL!
